- Mean
- It is the average of the data
- For ungrouped data, just add all the numbers and divide by the total number of numbers
- Median
- It is the middle value
- For the middle value of an ungrouped data, just arranged the data in ascending or descending order
- If the total number of values is odd, then select the middle value from the ordered data
- If the total number of values is even, then take the middle two values, add them and divide them by 2.
- Mode
- Mode is the highest repeating number in the data
- For ungrouped data, just see which number is occurring the most number of times.
- Range
- It is the difference between the largest and smallest value in the ungrouped data.
- For grouped data
- First method
- Find the midpoint of each class interval
- (Upper limit + Lower limit)/2
- Multiply the midpoint with the frequency to find f(x) of the class interval
- Add all these f(x) for all the class intervals
- Divide them by total frequency
- Find the midpoint of each class interval
- First method
- Modal Class
- The class interval that has the highest frequency is the modal class.
