- There are some rules of indices that must be followed
- First, If the base is same, then if we multiply two numbers, their powers will add to each other
- The same goes for the fact that is the base is the same, then we just subtract the powers if it asks us to divide.
- Any thing that has the power of 0, will be equal to one, so
- If we have a power outside in the bracket, it will be multiplied with each of the powers inside.
- Another rule is that
- We can take square root of something to be the same as power 1/2
- We can take any other route to the same as power 1/that route number
- For example, a cube root is the same as power 1/3
- If we take a reciprocal of a number, it’s power changes sign
