1. Demonstrative Reference (اشاری حوالہ)

Used to point to something in text or surroundings

the former	پہلا والا	The former is easier.	پہلا والا آسان ہے۔
the latter	آخری والا	The latter is more useful.	آخری والا زیادہ مفید ہے۔

2. Anaphoric Reference (بعد از ذکر حوالہ)

Referring back to something already mentioned

3. Cataphoric Reference (پیشگی حوالہ)

Referring forward to something that appears later
